Speech and Language Therapy

We address communication challenges and disorders in children with developmental delays. Certified speech-language pathologists assess speech, language, social communication skills and feeding, creating personalized therapy plans. Through dynamic activities, we support children in developing effective communication skills and enhancing social interactions.

Developmental Therapy

We focus on addressing developmental delays and promoting overall growth and progress in children. Our therapists work holistically to target various areas of development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Through play-based activities, we support children in reaching their developmental milestones and maximizing their potential.

Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP)

The IFSP is a comprehensive plan developed in collaboration with families to outline the child's needs, goals, and services. Our team works closely with families to create personalized IFSPs that address the child's developmental needs and incorporate family priorities and preferences. We ensure that families are actively involved in decision-making and receive the support and resources they need to promote their child's development.

Evaluations and assessments

We conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments for each therapy service to identify children's strengths, needs, and areas for growth. Our team utilizes standardized assessment tools and clinical observations to gather information about the child's abilities and challenges. These assessments guide the development of individualized therapy plans and help track progress over time.

Interpreters and Translation Services

We provide interpreters and translate all medical reports into Polish, Spanish, and Chinese to ensure that families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds can fully understand the evaluation results, therapy recommendations, and progress reports. By offering language support, we promote effective communication and collaboration between families and therapists.

Parent Education and Training

We offer parental education and training sessions to empower families with knowledge and skills to support their child's development at home. Once your child starts therapy, we will be covering topics related to child development, behavior management, communication strategies, and accessing technological resources. By equipping parents with practical tools and strategies, we promote positive parenting practices and enhance the child's progress.

Social Work Services

We provide support to families in addressing social, emotional, and practical challenges that may impact their child's development. Our licensed social workers offer counseling, advocacy, and resource coordination to help families deal with complexity and access community support services. We collaborate with families to address their unique needs and strengthen their support network.

Sibling Support Programs

We offer sibling support programs designed to engage and support siblings of children receiving therapy services. These programs provide opportunities for siblings to connect with peers, express their feelings, and learn about their sibling's condition and therapy process in a supportive and understanding environment. Through group activities we promote positive sibling relationships and enhance family dynamics.

Teletherapy Services

We offer convenient and accessible therapy options for families who may face barriers to in-person sessions. Through secure video conferencing platforms, children can receive high-quality therapy services from the comfort of their own homes, eliminating the need for travel and providing greater flexibility in scheduling. Our teletherapy sessions are conducted by licensed therapists who deliver personalized interventions and support, ensuring that children continue to receive the care they need, regardless of their location.

Home-based therapy sessions allow for greater family involvement and participation, achieving a collaborative approach to intervention and maximizing the child's progress and development.

Making a Referral to Early Intervention

Anyone can refer a child to early intervention. The program relies most on “primary referral sources” such as parents, physicians and other health care providers, child care providers, social service agencies, and early learning programs. Follow the steps described below to make your referral:

Fill Out Form

When possible, please use the Standard Referral Form and fax the completed forms to the family’s local Child and Family Connections (CFC) office. The Early Intervention Training Program’s Early Intervention Referral module includes in-depth information on using the standard referral form to refer children to EI.

Find a local CFC office: First, talk with the family about your concerns and ask them about any concerns they may have about their child. Call their local Child and Family Connections (CFC) office to request a developmental evaluation. Find a local CFC office or call (800) 843-6154. A printable list of the CFC offices is found on the Provider Connections website.

Families can find more information about referrals and next steps on our Getting Started page. Once you have made a referral to the program, it is up to the family to decide whether they want to participate.
